What are the grants?

SOS grants provide financial relief for individuals and families with medical needs not covered or not fully covered by their health insurance. SOS helps fill the gap between what medical services/items you need and what you can afford.  This is done whether or not you have insurance.

How does the grant work?

Once your application is verified by our office, we will create a fundraising page with the information and pictures you provided in your application. SOS empowers you to then promote your page to raise funds, but we will also direct people to your site. The grant will help pay for approved medical services/items after any existing insurance submits payment. Grant funds are not paid to you outright – you work with SOS on submitting invoices/bills for approved medical services/items after your insurance submits initial payment (if any) to the health care provider (see graphic below.)

How do I apply for a grant?

First, review the information contained on this page to make sure you understand what the grant is and how it works. Select which program and/or project best fit your needs, and send in your completed application by: email, fax or mail.
