BRING BACK A SMILE

How can this program help?

SOS has adopted the Bring Back a Smile program to address the needs of patients who are seriously ill and, due to catastrophic medical expenses, cannot afford basic or emergency dental care. Follow up care, including routine cleanings, will be your responsibility. The individual grant that will pay all or a portion of the patient’s total dental expenses that are needed & provided under recommendation of a dentist. Grants for both already completed & urgently needed procedures. Paid directly to the provider or collection service on your behalf.

SHARE HOPE NOW

How can this program help?

Those who are facing the crisis of critical illness often meet with insurmountable expenses. They must keep their jobs and medical insurance, make mortgage or rent payments, fill the car with gas, the refrigerator with food, and their children with hope. The Share Hope Now  program addresses some of these urgent needs.

SOS will work through its network of partners nationwide to provide Share Hope Now in the form of rent and mortgage payments, utility payments, travel and grocery expenses and other vital needs that soften the overwhelming burdens associated with catastrophic medical expenses. Requests are received through the families’ social workers at their treating hospitals or through additional needs of other programs.

The Share Hope Now: Emergency Assistance Project (EAP)

The Emergency Assistance Project (EAP) provides food, clothing, household goods, and financial aid to people who are already dealing with both serious and chronic conditions.

Emergency Assistance is Available For:

  • Past due rent
  • Past due mortgage payments
  • Past due utility bills
  • Food, clothing & gas assistance

The Share Hope Now: Mobility Assistance Project (MAP)

Home or vehicle modifications can be essential to helping people with disabilities live independently. This grant assists with the purchase of items such as mobility vans, ramps, and other necessary safety equipment.

Mobility Assistance is Available For:

  • Vehicle modifications
  • Home modifications
  • Mobility van replacement

The Share Hope Now: Basic Medical Assistance Project (BMAP)

The Basic Medical Assistance Project (BMAP) offers patients with catastrophic medical bills a way to help cover the cost of necessary medical expenses associated with these conditions that are not covered through private insurance or other assistance programs.

SOS interviews clients for financial assistance by written referral only.

Basic Assistance is Available For:

  • Prescription assistance
  • Durable medical goods (wheelchairs, orthotics, cooling vests, etc
  • Therapy programs
  • Communications devices

 

The Share Hope Now: Home & Appliance Repair Assistance Project (HARAP)

The Home and Appliance Repair Assistance Project (HARAP) offers patients with catastrophic medical bills a way to help cover the cost of essential minor repairs to their homes to maintain the quality of their living environment. Appliance repair helps ensure that their major household appliances are in good working order.

SOS interviews clients for financial assistance by written referral only.

Home Repair Assistance is Available For:

  • Water Heaters
  • Broken toilets
  • Furnace repairs
  • Cracked or broken windows
  • Repair of air conditioners (may require proof of medical need)

Appliance Repair Assistance is Available For:

  • Refrigerator
  • Washer
  • Dryer
  • Stove
  • Dishwasher
